Terms & Conditions at a Glance

The person making the booking is responsible for ensuring everyone attending understands and follows them.

• Entry is strictly by appointment only. Never enter before your booked start time or while another customer is using the field.
• If the entrance gate is closed, dogs may be loose in the field. Do not enter without express permission.
• Drive fully into the airlock parking area and close and lock the gates before letting your dogs out.
• Dogs must be safely inside your vehicle before the entrance gates are unlocked or opened.
• Your booking includes a maximum of 10 dogs and two vehicles. Organised meet-ups and professional use must be booked separately or agreed with us in advance.
• Dogs must be supervised and kept under control at all times.
• Please pick up after your own dogs. If you find a missed poo, please pick that up too.
• Children must be closely supervised. The field is a natural rural environment and may contain uneven ground, holes, mud, standing water and other natural hazards.
• Check that the field and fencing are suitable for your own dogs before allowing them off lead. No field can be guaranteed completely escape-proof.
• Report any damage, fencing problems or other safety concerns to us immediately.
• Take all belongings and litter with you and leave the field, including the parking area, before your booked time ends.
• Standard bookings may be cancelled or rescheduled online up to 12 hours beforehand. Refunds require at least 48 hours’ notice and may be subject to a small processing fee.
• Late-availability and other specially discounted bookings cannot be refunded or rescheduled.
• Be considerate of neighbouring land, livestock and other field users. Do not block Trent Lane when arriving or leaving.

These Terms and Conditions apply to every booking and visit to Frank’s Freedom Field. By making a booking, the person booking the field (the Hirer) confirms that they have read and accepted these terms and will ensure that everyone attending with them follows them.

The Hirer is responsible for all dogs, adults, children and vehicles included in their booking. An adult must be present and responsible for the booking throughout the visit.

1. Bookings and permitted use

1. Entry is strictly by appointment. Your booking gives you exclusive use of the field and its parking area only for the date and times shown in your confirmation.
2. Bookings are for a maximum of 10 dogs and two vehicles, unless Frank’s Freedom Field has agreed otherwise in writing before the visit.
3. The field may be used by one household or by an established group of people and dogs who already know one another and can be safely exercised together. Organised meet-ups, first-time introductions between dogs and group gatherings are not permitted.
4. The gate code will be sent to you before your appointment. It is for your booking only and must not be shared with anyone who is not attending with you.
5. A booking must not be transferred or resold without our prior agreement.

2. Professional and commercial use

1. You must tell us when booking if the field will be used in connection with paid dog walking, dog training, pet sitting, daycare or any other animal-related business or professional service.
2. Professional users must receive approval from Frank’s Freedom Field before their first professional visit. Making or paying for a booking does not by itself grant approval for professional use.
3. Professional users must maintain suitable pet-business and Public Liability insurance throughout every visit. The cover must apply to the activities being carried out, all dogs in the user’s care, custody or control, every person handling the dogs and the use of privately hired dog-exercise fields.
4. Before approval, and whenever reasonably requested, the professional user must provide a current insurance certificate and policy schedule. The evidence must show the insured person or business, policy dates, level of Public Liability cover, the maximum number of dogs covered and whether employees, assistants or additional handlers are included. We may require a reasonable minimum level of cover specified by us or our insurer.
5. The number of dogs attending must not exceed the lowest of: the field’s maximum of 10 dogs; the maximum covered by the professional user’s insurance; or any lower limit stated as a condition of approval.
6. Approval applies only to the named person or business and the handlers shown to be insured. It must not be transferred to another walker, employee, subcontractor or business unless that person is covered by the evidence supplied and has been approved where required.
7. Professional users must tell us promptly if their insurance expires, is cancelled or restricted, or if there is any material change to their business, handlers or cover. Renewal evidence must be supplied before the existing policy expires if professional use is to continue.
8. If suitable evidence is not supplied or the cover is no longer valid, the booking must not be used professionally. It may only be used privately by the Hirer with their own dogs, where all other booking conditions are met. We may cancel the booking, end a session or suspend future professional use where reasonably necessary. Refunds will be considered under section 13, unless we decline approval despite complete and accurate evidence having been supplied within the requested time, in which case we will offer a full refund or equivalent credit for an affected booking.
9. Approval confirms only that the information requested has been supplied. It is not an endorsement of the professional user and does not transfer responsibility for their dogs, customers, staff, conduct, legal compliance or insurance to Frank’s Freedom Field.

3. Arrival, parking and departure

1. Please do not block Trent Lane at any time. Pull completely off the lane into the lay-by before stopping to unlock or lock the gate. Do not stop or park on the slope while operating the gate.
2. If you arrive early and the previous customer is still present, wait in your vehicle in the lay-by. Do not approach the gate, as the dogs using the field may be nervous or reactive.
3. If the previous customer remains after your booked start time, please contact us rather than approaching them or attempting to enter.
4. Once the field is clear, drive into the parking area, close and secure the main gate, and only then release your dogs from your vehicle.
5. Arriving late does not extend your booking. You must have caught and secured every dog, removed your belongings and vehicles, closed the gate and completely vacated the field before the end of your booked time.
6. When leaving, secure all dogs inside your vehicle before opening the main gate. Close and lock the gate after exiting.

4. The fencing and risk of escape

1. Frank’s Freedom Field is an enclosed natural field with fencing approximately 1.8 metres (6 feet) high. No field can be guaranteed to be completely escape-proof for every dog.
2. Small gaps, damage, erosion or holes created by rabbits and other burrowing animals can appear between inspections. A determined dog may also climb, jump, squeeze under or dig beneath fencing.
3. Before releasing your dogs, check that the gates and fencing appear intact and suitable for their size, behaviour and abilities. If you find a possible escape route or any damage, keep your dogs secured and contact us immediately.
4. You remain responsible for deciding whether the field is suitable for your dogs and for preventing escape. Dogs known to climb, jump or dig must be supervised particularly closely.
5. Do not climb on any fence or gate. Do not open or attempt to use any gate other than the main entrance gate.

5. Supervision and control of dogs

1. Dogs must be supervised and under the control of a responsible adult at all times. They must never be left unattended in the field.
2. Please remain aware of what every dog in your booking is doing. Do not sit in your vehicle while dogs have free run of the field.
3. If a dog may be difficult to catch at the end of the session, use a suitable long line in good time. A long line is available at the field, but you are responsible for checking that it is suitable and using it safely. Supervise it closely and be aware that it may catch on vegetation or other objects.
4. Do not allow dogs to behave dangerously towards any person or animal. The person legally responsible for each dog remains responsible throughout the visit, including on private land.
5. Please prevent persistent barking at, harassment of or attempts to reach livestock in neighbouring fields. If you cannot promptly redirect your dog, secure the dog and end the session.
6. Dogs that are subject to breed-specific legislation, a court order, a dog control order or any other legal restriction are permitted, but the owner or person in charge must comply with every applicable legal requirement at all times. This includes any requirements relating to exemption, insurance, microchipping, neutering, supervision, leads or muzzles. Booking the field does not remove or replace those legal responsibilities.

6. Children and other visitors

1. Children are welcome but must be closely supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
2. The field is a natural dog-exercise area, not a playground. Children must not climb gates, fences, trees, logs, the storage shed or other features.
3. The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that every person attending understands the natural ground conditions and behaves safely around the dogs.

7. Natural ground and weather conditions

1. Frank’s Freedom Field is intentionally maintained as a natural outdoor space. Conditions change with the weather and seasons.
2. The ground may include molehills, rabbit or other animal holes, divots, uneven areas, long grass, logs, banks, mud, standing water, frost, ice, cut grass and other natural trip or slip hazards. We inspect and manage the field regularly, but it is not possible to remove every natural hazard.
3. Wear footwear and clothing suitable for the conditions. Mud and freshly cut grass may stain footwear, clothing and dogs.
4. Wild grasses, plants, roots, fungi, insects, ticks, bees and other wildlife may be present. Prevent dogs and children from chewing or eating unknown plants, roots, flowers, fungi or other natural material.
5. You are responsible for deciding whether the weather and ground conditions are suitable for you, your dogs and everyone attending with you.
6. For appointments taking place after dark, you must bring a reliable, fully charged head torch. A phone torch is not sufficient. Any head torches available in the storage shed are complimentary emergency backups only and their availability cannot be guaranteed.

8. Digging, trees and planted areas

1. Do not allow dogs to dig, particularly beside fences, gates, trees or planted areas.
2. If a dog starts digging, redirect it immediately. Make the hole safe if you can do so without risk and tell us where it is so that we can inspect and repair it.
3. Do not allow dogs to chew, pull up or damage trees, willow structures, flowers, guards or other planting.

9. Dog waste and rubbish

1. You must watch your dogs and collect all of their poo promptly. Poo bags are provided.
2. Tie the bags securely and place them in the dog-waste bin. That bin is for bagged dog waste only.
3. Take all other rubbish home with you or place it in a clearly designated general-waste bin, where one is provided.
4. If a dog vomits or has diarrhoea during a visit, clean up as fully as reasonably possible and contact us promptly so that we can assess and clean the area.

10. Health and infectious illness

1. Do not bring a dog to the field if that dog, or any dog it lives with, is showing signs of a potentially infectious illness. This includes vomiting, diarrhoea, coughing, suspected kennel cough, unusual lethargy or fever.
2. If illness develops shortly after a visit and may have been infectious while the dog was at the field, please notify us so that appropriate precautions can be taken.

11. Equipment, treats and belongings

1. Inspect any long lines, toys, bowls, seating or other complimentary equipment before use. Do not use anything that appears damaged or unsuitable, and report it to us.
2. Complimentary dog treats are offered subject to availability. Check the original ingredient and allergen information and decide whether a treat is suitable before giving it to any dog. We cannot know the dietary or medical needs of every dog.
3. Use of any complimentary item is optional. Return reusable equipment to its proper place after use.
4. Tell us promptly about any damage caused by you, your guests or your dogs. You may be required to pay the reasonable cost of repairing damage that goes beyond normal wear and tear.
5. Please look after your vehicles and personal belongings. We are not responsible for loss, theft or damage unless it results from our negligence or breach of legal duty.

12. Alcohol and unacceptable behaviour

1. Alcohol must not be consumed at the field, and nobody who is impaired by alcohol or drugs may be responsible for dogs or vehicles there.
2. Treat dogs humanely at all times. Abusive, dangerous, threatening or antisocial behaviour towards dogs, other customers, neighbours, staff or members of the public will not be tolerated.

13. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds

1. You may cancel or reschedule a standard appointment through the link in your booking confirmation up to 12 hours before its start time.
2. A refund is available only when a standard appointment is cancelled at least 48 hours before its start time. Any non-refundable card-processing charge that was clearly disclosed when booking may be deducted.
3. Where sufficient notice for a refund has not been given, we may offer a credit or other change at our discretion, but we are not required to do so.
4. Cancellations made less than 12 hours before the appointment and missed appointments are non-refundable and cannot normally be rescheduled.
5. Late-availability appointments and any other specially discounted bookings described as non-refundable or non-changeable at the time of purchase cannot be refunded, transferred or rescheduled.
6. If we have to cancel because the field is unsafe or unavailable—for example because of flooding, severe weather, damaged fencing or essential maintenance—we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible and provide a full refund or restore any package credit used for that booking.

14. Closures and emergencies

1. We may close the field at short notice where reasonably necessary for safety, flooding, severe weather, repairs, maintenance or another event outside our reasonable control.
2. Do not enter the field when it has been marked or communicated as closed.
3. Report damaged fencing, an open gate, flooding, a fallen tree or any other urgent hazard immediately. If a dog escapes, a person or animal is in immediate danger, or livestock is threatened, telephone us straight away and contact the emergency services where appropriate.

15. Responsibility and liability

1. We take reasonable care to inspect and maintain the field. However, it is a natural outdoor environment and using it involves ordinary risks that cannot all be removed.
2. You are responsible for deciding whether the field, weather and conditions are suitable for you and your dogs; for supervising and controlling your dogs and children; and for following these Terms and Conditions.
3. We are not responsible for injury, loss or damage that is not caused by our negligence or breach of legal duty. This includes loss or damage caused by your dogs, your guests, your failure to follow these terms, or natural conditions that could not reasonably have been prevented.
4. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

16. Breach of these terms

1. We may end a session or withdraw permission to use the field where a customer or anyone attending with them seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, creates a safety risk, damages the field or equipment, causes avoidable distress to neighbouring livestock, or behaves abusively.
2. A session ended because of a serious breach will not be refunded. We may also refuse future bookings where reasonably necessary to protect the field, its neighbours, customers or animals.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions for future bookings. The version made available when you book will normally apply to that booking, unless a change is required sooner by law or for an urgent safety reason and we notify you of it.
